What is clipping?
Clipping means taking the strongest moments from longer content and turning them into short, standalone videos. Think of a funny bit from a podcast, an exciting moment from a stream or a strong quote from an interview. You post those clips on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or Snapchat.
Brands and creators pay for the reach your clips bring in. The more people watch your clip, the more you earn. You don't need a big following: what counts are the views on your clips, not your profile.

How to start clipping
Getting started costs nothing and takes a few minutes. On ClipHub it works in five steps. You can browse first and only sign up once you've found a campaign you like.
Browse the campaigns
On Discover you see every active campaign and hub, with the rate per 1,000 views and the platforms that count for each campaign. You don't need an account for this.
Create a free account
Sign up and join the hubs that fit your content. Joining a hub is free and there is no contract. You can join as many hubs as you like.
Connect your socials and your IBAN
Connect the accounts you post on so we can measure your views. Add your IBAN too: without a bank account you can't submit clips and we can't pay you.
Make and post your clip
Read the campaign brief, cut your clip from the material provided and post it on your own account. Follow the rules, such as required hashtags or mentions.
Submit your link
Paste the link to your clip into ClipHub. From then on we track the views automatically. You don't have to report anything by hand.
How much do you earn clipping?
You earn per 1,000 views. That rate is called the CPM (cost per mille). Every campaign has its own fixed CPM. On ClipHub, rates usually range from €0.30 to €2.50 per 1,000 views, depending on the hub and the campaign.
So your earnings are easy to work out: the number of views divided by 1,000, times the CPM. There's no limit to the number of clips you make, although every campaign has its own budget and sometimes a minimum and maximum amount per clip.
Worked example
Here is what that looks like for different view counts and rates within the usual range:
| Views | At €0.30 per 1,000 | At €1.00 per 1,000 | At €2.50 per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | €3.00 | €10.00 | €25.00 |
| 50,000 | €15.00 | €50.00 | €125.00 |
| 250,000 | €75.00 | €250.00 | €625.00 |
If your clip gets 50,000 views in a campaign with a CPM of €1.00, you earn 50 × €1.00 = €50.00.
These are worked examples, not promises. What you earn depends on how many views your clips really get and on the campaign's rate.
Views count for 30 days from the moment you submit your clip. Only real views from real viewers count: ClipHub filters out bots and inflated numbers. Post several clips a week in a few good campaigns and you build up a steady side income, step by step.
Payouts to your own bank account
Your earnings go into your ClipHub wallet. On the 1st of every month we pay them out automatically to the IBAN you connected. You don't need to request anything.
There's no minimum amount and it costs you nothing. The transfer goes via SEPA and usually lands in your account within 1 to 3 working days. A non-Dutch IBAN works too.
An example timeline: if you submit a clip on 20 April, tracking runs until 20 May. After that the amount is final and it goes to your wallet and your bank on 1 June.
Keep in mind: your earnings are income. Check how to declare it for tax in your country.
Which platforms can you clip for?
You always post on your own accounts. ClipHub measures the views on these platforms:
- TikTok: the biggest source of short videos and the starting point for many clippers.
- Instagram: Reels reach your followers as well as new viewers through Explore.
- YouTube: Shorts have a long life and often keep getting views for weeks.
- Facebook: Reels on Facebook attract a different, often older audience.
- Snapchat: Spotlight gives short videos reach beyond your own friends.
Not every campaign allows every platform. Each campaign shows which platforms count.
Tips to earn more
Clippers who earn well do a few things right, every time.
Hook viewers in the first second
Open with the strongest moment. A question, a surprise or a bold statement keeps people watching.
Add subtitles
Lots of people watch without sound. Large, easy-to-read subtitles keep them watching.
Read the brief carefully
A clip that doesn't follow the rules doesn't count. Check hashtags, mentions and required elements before you post.
Only use the material provided
Cut from the content the campaign provides. That keeps you right on rights and keeps the clip in line with the brand.
Post often and test
Not every clip takes off. Try different moments, lengths and opening lines and see what works.
Pick campaigns that suit you
A gaming account does better with a gaming campaign. Check Discover for campaigns that match your audience.
What to watch out for
Never buy views and never use bots. ClipHub filters out fake views and inflated numbers. Clips with fake reach don't count and can be rejected.
Only post clips made from material the campaign provides, on your own account. Reposting someone else's clip or using content you have no rights to earns you nothing and can get your account into trouble.
Be honest about your reach and follow the rules of the platform you post on. That keeps your account healthy and keeps you earning. Not sure whether a clip meets the rules? Read the campaign brief again before you post.
